OLIKA uses Ethyl alcohol derived from corn. To learn more about the alcohol in hand sanitizer visit our blog post here.
Our ethyl alcohol is currently nondenatured, though we are working toward a denatured formula in the near future. When used as directed, it is a safe way to be effective against 99.9% of most common disease-causing germs.
Some essential oils are photosensitive and can cause problems when applied in undiluted or improperly diluted forms. Because we maintain dilution levels below the maximum use level established by the International Fragrance Association (IFRA), our formulations are safe to use.
OLIKA uses vegetable glycerin in our formulations.
We're going to get nerdy in answering this question. Why? Hand sanitizers are required to use denatured alcohol which adds a bitter taste to the liquid to discourage kids from drinking it recreationally. Denaturants are derived from salt or sugar and comprise a tiny piece of the alcohol ingredients - so tiny that most products don't even list it. Because denatured alcohol isn't the same as our other plant-to-product ingredients, saying we're 100% natural wouldn't be accurate.
Yes. OLIKA products are made with plant-based ingredients.
Yes. OLIKA products are gluten-free.
Absolutely! OLIKA does not conduct animal testing of our ingredients, formulations or final products.
The OLIKA formulation contains 65% ethyl alcohol, which is above the CDC recommended level for effecitve removal of germs and bacteria.
Yes, OLIKA is alcohol based. Our formula contains 65% ethyl alcohol, meeting the CDC standards.
While our ingredients are natural, they are not all organic. We are working hard to improve our formulations everyday, to reach the best standard possible.
Yes. We only work with partners who meet the highest standards of sourcing and we constantly evolve and improve when we find even better options.
We only include what's absolutely needed in our product. All of our formulas have alcohol to sanitize, aloe to soothe, water and glycerin to hydrate and essential oils for fragrance. Our essential oil fragrances are made-up of a blend of natural oils. Because our fragrance-free formula has no oils, it's just 4 ingredients.
OLIKA hand sanitizers are powerful, delightful and hydrating. The everything-you-need-and-nothing-you-don't formula goes further than comparable gel-based options saving you time and attention. And whether you choose a favorite scent or our fragrance free option, our sprays and clip-ons are both stylish and refillable.
All of our products are designed in the US and assembled in Asia.
Use OLIKA as much as you need to! The hydrating formula won't leave your skin feeling dry and itchy.
OLIKA is generally safe to use on kids, but should not be used on babies under 2 months old. And while the adorable bird shape might look like a toy, it's not and is a choking hazard. Be sure young kids under 3 years old are supervised when using it.
Yes and no. Hand sanitizer should not be stored above 105°F which means most of the time it's fine to store in your car, but during summer months or in warmer regions, it should come inside when you do.
It's not hard at all - simply unscrew the bottom of your OLIKA and fill with sanitizer up to the edge of the reservior area. Be sure not to over-fill to prevent spillover when the top is screwed back on.
Each refill pouch is 90ml, which will fill a Hand Sanitizer Spray 3 times, or a Clip-On 4.5 times. That's 1500+ sprays!
The #1 request we've had from customers over the last 3 years is to make our birds refillable. In order to free the base for refilling, we had to remove the lock. If you're a lock-lover, check out the new clip-on version which lets you keep the bird above the fray inside your bag.
In order to make refillable products, we removed the locking mechanism. We added a new purse-worthy clip-on version to help make your hand sanitizer easier to access and keep it above the fray inside your bag.
Our base formula has remained the same - alcohol, aloe, glycerin and water. It still hydrates for up to 24 hours and leaves your hands feeling soft and silky. If you are a fan of our original scent, you will find it in Mint Citrus. We also have 5 other options to explore: Lavender, Cucumber Basil, Orange Blossom, Charcoal and Fragrance Free.
You're looking for Mint Citrus which is in our signature blue hue.
Yes, OLIKA can be recycled, but they can also be refilled.
Yes, yes, yes! Customers made refills their #1 wish-list item from OLIKA and we are very proud to deliver.
We chose the refill pouch because it has one seventh the ecological impact of an equivalent PET bottle, even if that bottle was recycled 80% of the time. While that makes the pouch a preferable packaging option, it isn't perfect. The ideal solution would be a recyclable pouch and we continue to pursue this option and hope to eventually replace the current pouch.
Yes indeed. They are built to last. Customers' most-requested change was to make our product refillable, and durability was an important part of our redesign.
Refills contain 90mL, which will fill a Spray 3 times or a Clip-On 4.5 times. That's 1500+ sprays.
That's a tough one to answer because we can't be sure how much you use at a time or how many times per day you're using OLIKA, but each 30mL Spray contains 500 sprays, so even heavy users will be covered for a substantial amount of time. It's 15x more uses than an equivalently sized gel product. The 20mL Clip-On contains 350 sprays, approximately 10x more than an equivantly sized gel product.

While soap and water are the first line of defense, OLIKA hand sanitizer can sanitize when soap and water are not available. The CDC recommends alcohol-based hand sanitizers with at least 60% alcohol, and OLIKA contains 65%.

OLIKA products do not contain any of the nasties, including those on your list. The base formula is just 4 clean ingredients - alcohol, aloe, glycerin and water. Our added fragrances come from essential oils, not mysterious fragrances or synthetic wonders.
OLIKA products have a shelf life of 3 years. Each bottle and refill pouch has an expiration date stamped on the bottom, so you can be confident that your product is strong and effective.
For all products, the expiration date is stamped on the bottom.
